Crabmeat Stuffed Catfish

You can use other types of fish with this recipe: Cod, Haddock, Flounder, Grouper, and Salmon would be good choices.

I think this will be my Signature dish and Every Week dish for a while. Hubby Always requests it!

It tastes great when it’s just baked and even cold the next day, as he likes to eat it for lunch at work. I have been packing him lunches for probably 26+ years he’s been working at his job.

I Deserve a Gold Watch by now, LOL!

Just kidding, he treats me Very Well: I get a room and board (lol), plenty of Affection and Adoration!!! Can’t complain, right?!

It’s best to use The Real Deal – LUMP WHITE CRAB MEAT as the one I have used.

Costco used to carry it at one point, but you can still order this brand on Amazon (affl link in the recipe card).

I did not stuff individual fillets this time but rather seasoned one Cod fillet added the stuffing mix, and put another fillet on top. Added sliced bell pepper, fresh parsley, olive oil, butter, and wine. Seasoned the top Cod fillet with salt/pepper, paprika, sesame seeds, and Italian seasoning.

  2. Because restaurants aren’t open for inside dining and I’m practicing social distancing due to the covid-19 pandemic, I made this fish dish to celebrate someone’s birthday. It was delicious!!

    • Hi Kathy! It’s so nice of you to make this for someone’s birthday! I bet they were excited to taste this! Appreciate your feedback! I know, not the easiest time for any of us! We all do the best we can.

  3. Used SWIA filets—my wife just DOESN’T like fish.Like Mark, I laid the filets out flat. My wife enjoyed the fish like never before.

  4. Hi, I was hoping to make this with cod for Christmas. Can I make the crab stuffing a couple days in advanced? If so, how should I store it? Thank you 🙂

    • Danielle, sorry for getting back to you late, I’m busy cooking for Christmas as well! Yes, you should be able to use Cod in this recipe and stuffing can last few days int he fridge (airtight container). Merry Christmas!

  5. I followed this recipe almost to a tee. I added small shrimp to the crab meat stuffing and instead of rolling the fillets I just laid them out flat and spread the stuffing on top. The crab and shrimp stuffing got a little crispy and the fish cooked perfectly. I loved this dish and will make it again.
