I have found the easiest and most delicious dessert – Nutella Chocolate Spirals or Nutella Chocolate Croissants! Anytime you have a company over, or just because you can make these portion-sized pastries.


Thanks to store-bought puff pastry, you can make these Nutella Chocolate Spirals or Nutella Chocolate Croissants without the extra time and fuss!

My family loves these pastries and a couple of days ago, I’ve made some for us again.  

Nutella Chocolate Spiral

So the other day, I was going for my dental appointment and dropped off some goodies at my in-law’s house, including these pastries. 

I forgot to mention what I was bringing and so funny my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law were discussing if I made them or they are store-bought, they didn’t know.

They look and taste absolutely perfect!

That’s why I always take the before pictures, to prove that I’ve made them!!! 

Nutella Chocolate Spirals

How to make Nutella Chocolate Spirals

Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and flatten.

Spread Nutella over one sheet of pastry leaving a 1-inch border around all of the edges.

Dust with shaved chocolate and chopped nuts, if you like.

Cover with another rolled puff pastry sheet rolled out to the same size as the first.

Press lightly with the rolling pin or your hands.

Using a sharp knife, slice into 1/2″ strips and twist.

Roll into a spiral tucking the ends underneath and pressing slightly.

Transfer the spirals to the prepared parchment-paper-lined baking sheet.

Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with additional shaved chocolate and nuts.

Bake in the preheated to 400˚F oven for 15 – 20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Remove the Nutella Chocolate Spirals from the oven and allow them to cool for at least 10 minutes.

Another Delicious idea is to make the  Nutella Chocolate Croissants shaped pastries.

How to make Nutella Chocolate Croissants:

Use the same recipe as above. Just slice each rolled pastry sheet into rectangles.

Spread Nutella, add chocolate and roll up dough tightly, enclosing Nutella and chocolate.

Repeat with remaining pastry.

Place pastry rolls on the baking sheet, seam side down.

Bake in the preheated to 400˚F oven until pastries are golden brown, about 15 minutes.

Total Time: 40 minutes

  • flour, for dusting
  • 2 sheets Frozen Puff Pastry, thawed if frozen
  • 3/4 cup Nutella or any chocolate hazelnut spread
  • shaved dark chocolate
  • chopped nuts
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface and flatten.
  2. Spread Nutella over one sheet of pastry leaving a 1-inch border around all of the edges.

  4. Cover with another rolled puff pastry sheet rolled out to the same size as the first.
